She was an active player in her school team and procured a letter in La Mirada High School’s baseball, basketball and volleyball teams. She later went on to study communications from the University of Arizona.
While in school, in her senior year she became the team captain for three sports including basketball, baseball and volleyball. During her sophomore years, Finch represented and played for All-Suburban League and All California Interscholastic Federation.
Finch started her professional career in softball in 1999 after initially winning against UIC Flames in the NCAA tournament. She made to the World Series for three consecutive years and gathered popularity. She broke several records and got a chance in the Olympics in 2004, where she helped the US team win the first position through her impeccable pitching skills.
