At the mere age of five, he got on with dirt bikes and within two years, he was all into racing. Obviously, this resulted in his missing college and education. He shifted to Georgia so that he could get himself properly trained at the Millsaps Training Facility. His passion manifested even in his amateur career where he won 25 major titles. The most noteworthy of it was the AMA National Amateur Championship. His Georgia training started when he turned pro in 2009. Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship in the 250 Class was his debut race where he impressed all by finishing the first runner up in both its Hangtown and Thunder Valley races.
