Born on 5 May, 1982 in Hartshill, Staffordshire, UK to parents Janice Curzon and Levison Wood Sr, Levison Wood was educated at Painsley Catholic College.

Levison Wood was commissioned into the British army in 2006 , serving in Afghanistan on duty as well. Levison left the army in 2010, to pursue a career in journalism and photography and thereby documenting his extensive travel undertakings through books and video documentaries. Inspired by the likes of explorers David Livingstone and Richard Burton, Levison Wood undertook the expedition to walk the length of river Nile in Africa. The Nile walking expedition was drafted into a television programme for Channel 4 in 2015. This walking expedition is also the subject of Levison Wood’s book Walking the Nile.



Levison has a girlfriend however her name is not yet known. Next came the undertaking of a walking expedition in the Himalayas, which Levison Wood embarked upon in 2015. Documenting his journey walking the length of Himalayas from Afghanistan to Bhutan, Levison Wood came up with a documentary series and yet another book. In January 2017, Levison Wood boarded on another walking expedition, this time in Central America, from Mexico to Columbia which was aired on Channel 4 as Walking the Americas.
