Brandon Beck was born on 3 January, 1970 in Los Angeles, California, United States. From childhood he was sharp and an avid video gamer spending considerable time on gaming. This led to the curiosity and interest for game development as Beck gradually grew up. He went on to study management from the University of Southern California and obtained his BA degree in Finance, Marketing and Business Administration. He did very well in college and was widely recognized for his contributions. Later in 2011 he went on to deliver a speech to the students of the alumni.

Beck started working as a consulting manager form Bain and Company. During this phase he met his future co-founder Marc Merrill and left his full-time job in 2006 in order to work for their start-up business. They started off with a small office in west California, Los Angeles and invested days and nights into their project of developing a game that would stir a new wave in the gaming industry. They named their company as Riot Games. It took them two long years of hard work and strategy to come up with their first game League of Legends: Clash of Fates which was released in 2009 October.
