Jim “Hacksaw” Duggan’s source of earnings has been wrestling. It has been more than 35 years that Jim has been into wrestling industry. Jim was born and brought up in Glens Falls in New York. Jim’s father was a police Officer while his mother was a Churchgoer. Duggan was very much interested in sports, so during his high school days he played football, basketball and wrestling. During High School, Jim was able to compete and win in New York State High School Wrestling Championship making him the first from Glens Falls to win it. He even used to play Chess in high School days.

After completing his high school, Ohio State University recruited him but he rather went for Southern Methodist University to play Football. He became football team captain in the university and graduated having degree in Plant Biology. Atlanta Falcons eventually signed him but his career was short-lived due to multiple knee injuries.

Jim’s wrestling career started in the year 1979, which was highly because of wrestler, Fritz Von Erich. Being serious in wrestling, Jim took some training in Sportatorium in Dallas and in Samoan Wrestling, which got noticed by Sr Vince Mac Mohan and WWF. But his WWF wrestling life was very small from 1979 to 81, which became unrecognisable and forgettable in WWF history. Jim then started wrestling in Georgia Championship Wrestling and in Birmingham with two stage names: – Big Jim Duggan and The Convict.
