When he was five years old, he came across a flyer advertising for wrestling classes. He along with his few friends joined the classes and started taking great interest in the same.Burroughs grew up having WWF player Randy Savage as his inspiration.

Burroughs attended the Winslow Township High School in Camden. Here he displayed immense sportsmanship and won the state as well as National championships.
